Ok, I know we are going into fall but I had this obsession with sewing a bonnet for Sage. So after a little searching I found this adorable pattern here. And I wiped up a bonnet last week during nap time. It was so easy and turned out soo cute. Not ideal for fall and winter, I realize, but I guess I'll just have to make another next year. Here is my cutie in her new bonnet.

It's been 7 weeks now since we got the keys to our new place. Although we still haven't moved in, we have made some serious progress and the finish line is getting closer and closer. Here is a little sneak peak of our biggest project. I present you with my new dining room:
And yes, this is the same room, I promise. We are not totally done with this room yet. It still needs some finishing touches and a good cleaning, but its come a long way. Can you spy all the differences? I'll help you out.
- That silly wall that made a tiny dining room and a breakfast nook off the kitchen is GONE!
- Old lighting is gone, new can lighting up
- Fake tile/linoleum gone, real tile installed
- Windows trimmed
- New trim
- New paint
- New pantry doors (not installed yet)

Sage's quilt is complete. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. The front is all fabric that I had in my stash including some Anna Maria Horner (my favorite fabric designer - if you don't know here, look her up) and the back is red minky. It's so soft and cuddly, I really hope Sage loves it as much as me.

I've been working on refinishing a dresser for Sages room for quite a while. It seems like every time I would start to work on it, Sage would wake up from her nap, Wyatt would need me or some other distraction would come up and prevent me from working on it. When my parents came to visit a few weeks ago, my mom helped me finish the paint job. So I was left to find some knobs and do something with the inside of the dresser. I was inspired by one of my favorite blogs, Young House Love and their dresser redesign for their nursery. Let's go back to July when I bought this dresser at the Bainbridge Rotary garage sale. I regret that I didn't take a picture of it before I started any of the work. But basically it looked like this: So I sanded, primed and painted the dresser. Then I picked out some knobs and paper to line the drawers. I had a "vision" of what I wanted it to look like in Sages completed room (pictures of that to come soon). But really my inspiration goes back to the quilt that I'm making for her. I love the color combination of red, pink and turquoise and decided to carry that color scheme out in her room. And so today I found some knobs and paper to line the drawer that fit right into my "vision." So here it is complete. Stay tuned for the dresser in the completed room!

Not only do we have a lot of work in progress at the new house, but I have a few projects of my own that I'm trying to complete. Like refinishing the dresser for Sage's room, and the mirror and peg rack for her room too. Oh, and the quilt. And knitting a new scarf. And a hat. And... And...And... the list seems never ending. I'm hoping to soon be posting pictures of these projects completed. But for the time being you'll have to settle for some projects in progress.
We had a fabulous time on our summer vacation on Orcas Island. We rented a house at West Beach Resort for a week with my parents, brothers and sister-in-law. It was relaxing, fun and a really great week spent with family. Wyatt caught his first fish (with a little help), Sage played in the sand, we ate lots of good food, rode our bikes, layed in the sun, swam in the water, and enjoyed being together as a family. Here are a few picture highlights.
