Last piece of Home

Our home has sold and we are officially home-less for the next few days. As I said good-bye to our old house I couldn't help but pick the big beautiful dahlias that I had planted in the garden two years ago. I will miss you dahlias. Here is my beautiful last piece of home.

Harvest Greens

If you haven't already heard, we are moving out of our house. I'm sad about all the hard work we are leaving behind but I'm excited to start fresh and put our personal touches on the new house. The thing that might make me the most sad about leaving our old house is the gardens. I mean I can't exactly dig up every plant we planted over the last 4 years and take them with us. But I could harvest anything that was ready. And so yesterday I picked the last of my harvest for this year: green beans, kale and broccoli. I will miss you butternut squash and spaghetti squash. I hope that your new owners enjoy!

Wyatt and the Frog, Part II

If you've been reading my blog for a year or so, you may remember the incident with the frog and Wyatt from last year. This year he found another frog and got over his fear ( I wonder where he got that?) with some help from Daddy and be-friended the frog!

Summer Update

Wow! Things have been crazy around here. We found a new house and so we are moving. So there has been all sorts of madness surrounding that. We are finding little bits of time here and there to enjoy our summer. For all of you who follow my blog, I am updating with a TON of new pictures. I have no new projects to share as I'm barely keeping up with my two kids and moving, cleaning, laundry, cooking and other daily tasks. So I hope you'll forgive me and enjoy these new pictures.

Garden

Since I had a baby and all this spring, I cut myself a little slack when it came to the garden. But I did manage to plant all the seeds I had leftover from last year. I did have a little help when it came to preparing my beds (thanks Dad!), which made planting much easier. Here are some pictures from the beginning of May:lettuce, carrots and swiss chard kale, kale and more kale bush beans and pole beans elephant garlic and broccoli butternut squash, pink spaghetti squash, cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, bush beans and raspberries

Stash-buster Quilt for Sage

Since I made a quilt for Wyatt I figured it was only fair that I make one for Sage too. So a few weeks ago I started sorting through my stash to see what I could come up with for my sweet baby girl. I wanted it to be mostly red and pink and surprisingly (or not so) I had plenty of fabric that fit the bill. So I've been sneaking into my sewing room every spare chance I get to cut some squares for the quilt. And today after I had cut squares from all the fabric I wanted to use and the rest of my family was napping, I laid out all the squares and came up with this: The best part is I didn't have to buy a single piece of fabric. I can't wait to start piecing it together!

Lovely Napkins

I cringe as I see that its been over a month since I've posted on my blog! I swear I've been doing stuff, I just haven't had the time to blog about it. So here I am, updating. I found some lovely Anna Maria Horner fabric that I had forgotten about in my stash that I really wanted to do something with. I wanted to see it all the time so I decided the best thing to make would be some new cloth napkins. Well it turns out that they are so lovely that I haven't had the heart to use them, yet!
