Kitchen Curtain for Wyatt

Wyatt got a new kitchen when baby Sage came home from the hospital! I had been meaning to make a little curtain for it before we gave it to him, but, well, that didn't happen. So I settled for a few weeks later. I whipped up this little curtain to hide all his goodies today. It matches the apron I made him a while back that he uses when "cooking" in his kitchen.

Lemon Crumb Cake

My husbands birthday was yesterday and although I didn't plan anything really special (unless you call delivery pizza special), I did find the time to bake him a cake. I wasn't quite ready to go to the grocery store alone with 2 kiddos so I had to make something with the supplies I had on hand and I came up with this Lemon Crumb Cake from the Pioneer Woman's alter ego, the Tasty Kitchen. It turned out really yummy although it was more of a coffee cake/ brunch cake rather than a birthday cake. But my husband didn't seem to mind. What a good sport!

New Addition

I haven't showcased anything crafty in a while, I've been a bit busy! I'd like to introduce the newest member of our family, making us 4. Sage Marie Harper was born on Monday, March 29th. Wyatt loves her dearly and is thrilled to be "the Big Brother!" Mama and Daddy are doing good, lacking in the sleep department, but that is to be expected. So here are some pictures of our new addition, starting with a pregnancy picture taken on Sunday night as I started feeling my first contractions:

Wyatt's New Apron

I sewed up this quick little apron for my boy today. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Stay tuned for another project that will go along with this little apron. I couldn't convince him to smile for me or put down his book so I just took the pictures anyway.

Baby Blanket

I know that I really don't need anymore baby blankets - it's the one thing that I feel like I really have plenty of, but I couldn't resist. I bought this beautiful Anna Maria Horner fabric in Seattle a while back and I really didn't have the heart to cut it. So I decided to use the whole piece for a baby blanket. I found some super soft minky in cream to be the back and used a simple blanket binding to finish it.

Hat in Motion

I finished another hat for my sweet little boy. And yes, I will admit to a little chocolate bribery in order to get these great photos. But he kept it on the whole time we were outside and even admitted to liking it. So mama is feeling pretty good about the new hat. Here's a few pictures of the boy in motion with his new hat.

Office Re-Arrange

In preparation for the new baby I had to get rid of my beloved drafters table/desk. It was simply too big for what is now a shared baby's room/office. I shed many a hormone induced tear over just the thought of getting rid of this desk, but finally cleaned it out and asked my husband to take it out. And so I brought back the table I had used previously. Not only does this table have no drawers unlike my drafters table but it's significantly smaller, which is great for fitting the rocking chair in this shared room. But I still had the problem of where to put all my stuff. And by stuff I mean all the stuff left after I packed out about 4 giant bins of stuff for storage. These things I'm talking about are my bare essentials of office/crafting activities. So my thoughts drifted towards some wall shelving. In attempt to make my happy, my husband hopped right on the idea and took me shopping that very afternoon. I'm thrilled with what I found and it seems to solve my stuff problem. I found these great bins at Lowe's for less than $2.50 each, so I snatched them all up and they work beautifully at hiding all that stuff and making everything look neat and tidy. Although it's still not the same as having my beloved drafting table, it's working out just fine.
