Oh Deer!

The deer were at it again. I had some beautiful, lush green beans that were doing so great and yesterday I caught a buck mid-afternoon just munching away at them. I'm so disappointed. I had so much in store for those beans. sigh. Hopefully I'll still have a few beans despite their sorry looking shape. See for yourself: On a lighter note, the deer didn't touch my bed full of carrots and beets that is currently doing beautifully! And my dahlia's are blooming and are so pretty. Fresh cut dahlias are one of my favorite things and it makes me happy to have them in the house. Other flowers that just started blooming are hydrangeas and cornflowers. My flower garden is looking quite lovely now!

A bowl of cherries

Our neighbor was kind enough to share his cherries with us. So Wyatt and I went over and picked a couple of buckets full. Besides just eating as they are, I 'm wondering what else we should do with them??

chickies out, chickies out mommmmmmmmmy!

All day yesterday Wyatt repeated this: chickies out, chickies out mommy! So finally when we got home, we let the baby chicks out and Wyatt had a blast chasing them around.

Ready, Set!

I've completed two more "Bloomer & Tee" sets that turned out adorable, if I do say so myself. I got commissioned from a friend for two identical sets, so here they are. Done. They are going in the mail tomorrow. Promise. Oh, this friend prompted me to put some labels on, so I came up with a cute little tag: Vee's Handmade Goodness. What do you think? Good? Bad? Cute? Silly? hmmm...

whoo-whoo

Right now this just looks like a big messy pile... but I promise it's going to be something great. I've had this idea for a while and I started a tidy pile in the corner but I *think* (keeping my fingers crossed here) I'm ready to dive in! So check back for progress and bug me if you don't hear about it.

Away for the Day

I was lucky enough to escape for just one day! This was surprisingly the very first time I was away from my son overnight and it was so great I'm thinking I need to do it again. I drove up to Vancouver BC on Friday night to see Sebastien and Hope, but mostly to attend Hope's bridal shower on Saturday. It was so lovely to go out for a drink, sleep in late, have some un-interrupted adult conversations and go to Grandville Market. Oh how I love that place! Seriously I think it may be one of my most favorite places ever. I found a few treasures and got to ride the cute little foot ferry. If you haven't made a trip to Vancouver - I highly recommend it!
