I always hesitate to sew clothes for myself. It seems so much easier to sew something for kids. Maybe I'm too picky or particular about how things fit and look - who knows. Anyway, I've been wanting something new to sleep in for a while and I just haven't found the right thing. So when I came across the pattern for a Summer Nightie in my One Yard Wonders book, I decided to give it a try. I stayed up until nearly midnight last night finishing this so I could wear it to bed - and I did! It's comfy and cute and was super easy to sew up!
I found this cute little lamp at one of my favorite consignment stores. The problem was that it had yellow and blue flowers on the base and a dark blue lamp shade. Not exactly going with the color scheme in Sages room. So I got out the white spray paint and sprayed the whole thing, including the frame. The base looked great but the shade, not so much. So after staring at the ugly lamp on my desk for a few weeks, a light bulb finally went off in my head! I got out my trusty glue gun and a cute scrap of fabric and Voila! Problem solved. The shade was cute and the base was a nice crisp clean white. A perfect match for Sage's room.
Wyatt turned 4 over the weekend. Oh my, how time flies. A birthday crown was in order for his special day. So I whipped up this sweet, umm I mean, super cool crown from a few sheets of felt, some interfacing and a little scrap of fabric.
Our couch was in need of a little spring update. I had actually set aside these fabrics for another project but that project may be just a little over my head a this moment in time. So instead I put them together in a quick "brick path" type pattern and made some new pillow covers. They definitely brighten things up a bit. Now I just need some art in my living room....
